Zen and RTRRT recover original mind. It is dangerous and worthless to think that one thinks that he was studying the psyche since psyche is parasite and alien mind. According to cult researcher Margaret T. Singer, "brainwashing" is a misnomer for what she calls "thought reform", also called "cult mind control". As a cult survivor and Cult Recovery Counsellor, I've gotten pretty clear about what cult mind control is over the years.

Yes, there are sometimes factors in common between small totalitarian religions and large totalitarian countries; because both may use cult mind control tactics. So the short answer is, yes, you're brainwashed, but only if you've been subject to cult mind control tactics.

Everybody should learn what the tactics are as a preventative innoculation. Through metacognition, one can see an unwelcome influence coming, but only after taking appropriate education as innoculation. Education on how cult mind control tactics work should be a class taught in middle schools. It really should.
